Sheltering Arms Earns Certification for Stroke Rehabilitation

Exciting news! Both Sheltering Arms Hospitals have earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Stroke Rehabilitation with no requirements for improvement. The Joint Commission is the most well-known accrediting body for healthcare organizations in the nation.

“In achieving Joint Commission certification, Sheltering Arms has demonstrated its commitment to the highest level of care for its patients following stroke,” says Jean Range, M.S., R.N., C.P.H.Q. executive director, Disease-Specific Care Certification, The Joint Commission. “Certification is a voluntary process and I commend Sheltering Arms for successfully undertaking this challenge to elevate its standard of care and instill confidence in the community it serves.”

This is not the first time Sheltering Arms has earned this important distinction. We were initially surveyed and received the Disease-Specific Care Certification for Stroke Rehabilitation in 2010. Our team has remained committed to staying on the forefront of rehabilitative care, with research, equipment and clinical practice guidelines dedicated to helping people who have experienced stroke recover and regain independence.
