Amol Karmarkar, PhD, is Director of Research for Sheltering Arms Institute, Professor and Health and Function Scientist in PM&R/CERSE at the Virginia Commonwealth University and the Director of the VCU Data Co-Op (Large Data Sharing and Analysis). He is site PI for the Virginia TBI Model System module studies and site co-PI on the NIH multicenter CARE4TBI study. With more than 20 years of experience in rehabilitation science, Dr. Karmarkar has authored over 100 peer-review publications in numerous journals, including Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development, Archives of PM&R, Jama, and CRC Press. His research has been funded by organizations including the NIH, Virginia Commonwealth Neurotrauma Initiative, and the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services.
