What is the Bioness Vector?

The Bioness Vector is a body-weight support system that is designed to help improve balance or regain the ability to walk after an injury, surgery, or neurological event within a safe and controlled environment.

How does the Bioness Vector work?

Users wear a harness that is supported by a dynamic trolley on a set of overhead tracks. The trolley works to offload a portion of the user’s bodyweight, which makes sit-to-stand transitions (getting out of a chair), standing, balancing, and walking easier and/or less painful. Additionally, the harness provides support to prevent falls, ensure safety, and allow users to overcome barriers to walking and standing. Use of a bodyweight support system aids in increasing repetition and intensity of practice, which ultimately improves neuroplasticity, the body’s ability to learn, adapt, and recover.

Who is the ideal candidate for the Bioness Vector?

The Bioness Vector is a versatile piece of technology that can be suitable for a wide variety of diagnoses, including, but not limited to, stroke, brain injury, incomplete spinal cord injury, chronic back, hip, or knee pain, Parkinson’s disease, or general balance disorders and debility.
