Laura Wiles, PT, DPT, MSE, is a physical therapist at Sheltering Arms Institute’s Bon Air & Reynolds outpatient centers. She sees patients with concussions, vestibular and neurological conditions. She obtained her PWR!Moves certification for working with persons with Parkinson’s Disease in 2024 as well.
Laura initially received her BS in bioengineering from Clemson University. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she went on to pursue her PhD in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania where she was a member of a traumatic brain injury research lab. During graduate school, she experienced her own concussion coupled with an orthopedic injury, which ultimately lead her to leave her PhD program with a MSE in bioengineering. Because of the massive impact physical therapy had on her life, she changed career paths and pursued a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Laura loves being able to use her past experiences and knowledge to benefit others.
In her spare time, she enjoys a variety of activities, including reading, hiking, knitting, horseback riding, jogging, hanging out with friends and family (especially her nephew), and spending time at her family’s farm with their dogs, cats, and horses.
