Twenty-four all-private rooms provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries, non-traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, and severe strokes.

Individuals with brain injuries are supported by fellowship-trained physicians; rehab psychologists; certified rehabilitation registered nurses; registered dietitians; physical, occupational, speech, recreation, respiratory, and music therapists; and upper-extremity recovery, locomotor, and wheelchair and seating specialists.

For patients under 21, Sheltering Arms Institute offers educational support services through its partnership with Richmond Public Schools to help young patients maintain their studies as best they can and plan for a return to school.
