Understanding rehabilitation nursing
Rehabilitation nursing at Sheltering Arms Institute provides individuals recovering from an injury, condition, or illness with medical support, patient advocacy, care coordination, and specialty nursing services such as wound care.
Nurses are directly involved in every aspect of each patient’s recovery and assist with tasks such as medication management, bowel/bladder training, mealtime assistance, and more.
Rehab nurses provide 24/7 care and will check in on you frequently to ensure your safety and well-being; they are only a call away at any time.
The nursing team at Sheltering Arms Institute is comprised of highly trained registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), nursing techs or certified nursing assistants (CNAs), patient safety attendants, and unit secretaries.
Sheltering Arms Institute is a collaboration with VCU Health; however, our nurses are employees of Sheltering Arms Institute.
