The pelvic floor exists in both men and women but there are some slight differences. For men, the pelvic floor is composed of the connective tissues, ligaments, muscles and nerves within the bladder, rectum and pelvic organs which includes the penis, scrotum, testis, urethra and prostate. For women, the pelvic floor includes the bladder, urethra and rectum but also the vagina, ovaries and uterus. For more information about all the pelvic floor muscles, visit physio-pedia.com.
