Be Your Own Champion: Advocating for Service on the Rehab Journey

When: Thursday, July 18th from 1-2 p.m.

Description: Navigating medical-related appointments can be difficult for those who have limited knowledge of the healthcare system and the medical terms/jargon affecting a person’s health. Sometimes those appointments can be overwhelming or may feel unproductive because of not knowing how to advocate for yourself, which can lead to a sense of helplessness.

To maximize the success of your rehab journey, it is important to be able to understand your diagnosis, prognosis, and the associated treatments for recovery. The purpose of this presentation is to help you increase your confidence with collaborating with your healthcare providers so you can effectively discuss your health concerns to meet your desired goals.
