Dr. Richard Kunz serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Sheltering Arms Institute. In addition to his leadership role, Dr. Kunz is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine. He also played a pivotal role in the development of the Sheltering Arms Institute as the Medical Transitional Team Leader, guiding the design and integration of medical services during its foundational phase.
Dr. Kunz holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology and a Master’s Degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Southern California. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also completed a clinical fellowship specializing in brain injury rehabilitation.
