Ruthie Otto

MS, OTR/L

Ruthie Otto, MS, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist at Sheltering Arms Institute’s Bon Air outpatient center. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Human Development and Sociology. Ruthie earned her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has experience in various settings, including acute care, adult inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation. Throughout her career, she has served adults with a variety of neurological diagnoses, including stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, and brain injuries. Additionally, she has experience working with general medical and orthopedic diagnoses. In her free time, Ruthie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, kayaking, and reading.
