INPATIENT EXPERIENCE

Supporting optimal rehabilitation

Sheltering Arms Institute offers shoulder injury rehabilitation in the inpatient care setting to individuals managing or recovering from multiple medical conditions in addition to shoulder injuries.

Inpatient treatment for a shoulder injury typically begins with a comprehensive evaluation to determine the severity of the injury and the best course of treatment. Following the evaluation, the patient may undergo imaging tests.

When the diagnosis is complete, the doctor will discuss the treatment plan with the patient. Depending on the severity of the injury, the treatment plan may include physical therapy, medications, and/or surgery. If surgery is recommended, the patient will be admitted to the hospital for an inpatient stay.

Inpatient stays for shoulder injuries typically last for several days. The length of stay can vary depending on the severity of the injury, the patient’s response to treatment, and the doctor’s recommendation. After the patient is discharged from the hospital, they may be instructed to go through therapy at one of our Outpatient locations.

At Sheltering Arms Institute, we realize that many shoulder surgeries or injuries are quite painful and our skilled clinicians will help you overcome your pain and restore your function. With a one-on-one approach, we will be there for you.
