Cardiac Rehab Services

Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States. Survivors of heart disease often need extensive rehabilitation to make a meaningful recovery, and they also need education on disease management and prevention.

At Sheltering Arms Institute, we evaluate and treat patients with a variety of cardiac conditions. Whether you are a survivor of heart attack, cardiac arrest or you are recovering from a cardiac surgical procedure, our team of skilled therapists is ready to build up your exercise tolerance and improve your overall quality of life.

Cardiac Rehab Doctor at Sheltering Arms Institute

Following any cardiac event or surgery, our expert clinicians at Sheltering Arms Institute will devise a rehabilitation treatment plan to fit your needs, one that focuses on increasing your cardiovascular fitness and endurance. Even if you are not able to stand and walk, we will tailor the program to your individual needs. We will use outcome measures, or objective testing, to track your progress in therapy and educate you on your capabilities. Our team will monitor your vital signs during exercise so that you may safely advance toward the exercise prescription guidelines recommended by the American Heart Association.

At Sheltering Arms Institute, our transdisciplinary team members will also prioritize patient education related to disease management, such as knowing the signs and symptoms of acute decompensated heart failure, and behavior modification, such as lowering your risk of heart attack and stroke through changes in diet and exercise. Our team wants to be part of your recovery and we are prepared to support you throughout your cardiac rehabilitation journey.
